Baseball Parlays

Because of the moneyline used in baseball, there are no set payoffs for tying a number of teams together in parlays.

Payoffs are determined by a simple formula that changes the moneyline into a decimal number and combines it with the other lines in the parlay. The first step is to change the moneyline into a decimal value. Use the chart below for this purpose.

How to Figure Baseball Parlays

For each PRICE or ODDS quote on your teams, look at their respective PAYOFFS (to $1) and always ADD $1 to these payoffs.

Multiply your BET times the products of these payoffs (+$1) for your parlay return.

Example 1: Bet $50 on Cardinals (-150) parlayed to Tigers (-130)

50 (bet amount) x 1.67 (-150) x 1.77 (-130) = $147.80

(return includes bet amount)

Example 2: Bet $75 on Cubs (+120) to Reds (-135) to Mets (Even)

75 (bet amount) x 2.20 (+120) x 1.74 (-135) x 2.00 (Even) = $574.20

(return includes bet amount)

Exhibition Baseball

In Las Vegas, casinos which post lines on pre-season (exhibition) baseball do not post total runs, nor do they list starting pitchers for each team. In addition, a tie con occur (3-3 final score) if both teams are tied at the end of ten complete innings.

Baseball Wagering Rules

MONEY LINE Winners and losers are official after 5 innings of play, if the home team is leading, the game is official after 4 1/2 innings. If a game is called, or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning (unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is called.) Monies will be refunded if the home team ties the game and it is then suspended. Events will not carry over to the following day (unless otherwise specified).

Casino's do not recognize suspended games, protests, overturned decisions, etc for wagering purposes, and all wagers must go the day written, otherwise there is no action and all monies are refunded.

Total Runs and Run Lines' Rules

When wagering on total runs (over/under) the game must go 9 innings (8½ if the home team is ahead) to have action. If a game is called, or suspended, the score will be determined after the last full inning (unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the score is determined at the time the game is called). Rules for the run line wagers are the same as those for baseball totals. Wagers on total runs will be refunded if a pitching change occurs prior to both listed pitchers throwing at least one pitch.

Accepted Baseball Wagers

Baseball wagers will be accepted in any of the following manners:

  • Action - Team against team, regardless of the starting pitcher.

  • One specified pitcher - This is a wager on or against on specified pitcher, regardless of the other starting pitcher.

  • Both specified pitchers - If starting pitchers are not exactly as quoted, your wager will be deemed 'no action'.

Note: IN the event there is a pitching change prior to the game, money odds may be adjusted. If one scheduled pitcher starts against an unscheduled pitcher, 'action' wagers will be computed by the opening price with the new pitcher.

A pitcher is deemed a starting pitcher after throwing one pitch.

Baseball Umpire Rotation Information

The information in the file 'Baseball Umps' is updated once a day, and does not change later in the day.

After a series between two teams is started, the rotation of umpires for successive games in the series is as follows:

The first base umpire goes to home plate, the home plate umpire goes to third base, the third base umpire goes to second base, and the second base umpire goes to first base.

Special Information for Boxing Events

Boxing Wagering Rule

The following is the correct ruling in boxing involving a draw. When a draw is on the board as one of the options available to wager on and the fight ends in a draw, that sportsbook pays only those who bet a draw. However, if a draw was not available at a sportsbook, then all monies are refunded. Sportsbooks who did not carry a draw as an available betting proposition are obligated to refund all wagers. Sportsbooks which offered the draw, pay only on the draw and do not refund any wagers on either fighter. The exception to this would be when a draw is listed as a SEPARATE wager. For example, a draw listed with other boxing betting propositions such as choosing what round a fighter will be KO'd in, or a fighter by decision or KO, etc.

Boxing Wagering Examples

Example #1

Jones -140
Smith +120
Draw +1500
Jones by KO 4 to 1
Jones by Decision 2 to 1
Smith by KO 6 to 1
Smith by Decision 3 to 1

In Example #1 the bettor can bet on Jones, Smith, Draw and if either fighter wins by KO or decision. In this instance, it should be stipulated by the sportsbook that in the event of a draw, any wagers on Smith or Jones will lose due to the three-way betting format. On wagers on how the winner wins the fight, which are separate betting propositions, a draw would result in a refund of those who wagered on Jones or Smith by KO, Dec, etc.

Example #2
Jones -140
Smith +120
Jones by KO 6 to 1
Jones by Decisions 3 to 1
Smith by KO 4 to 1
Smith by Decisions 2 to 1
Draw 28 to 1

In Example #2 the bettor has the option of wagering on Smith or Jones, or how the fight ends. In the event of a draw, all wagers on Smith or Jones are refunded. On wagers on how the fight ends, a draw would result a 28-1 payout. Obviously, if Jones won by Dec, the bettor would be paid accordingly. (3-1 as shown in the example).

Rules for Auto Racing Events

Official Winner

The Official NASCAR winner of the race shall be the winner of the race for wagering purposes.

Rules for PGA Tour Golf Events

In the event a tournament does not go the specified number of completed holes (usually 72), and the tournament is shortened by PGA officials, the leader at the end of number of holes determined to be official by PGA officials shall be the winner:

Example:

Tournament is scheduled for 72 holes, but only 54 holes can be played due to weather concerns. The leader at the end of 54 holes would be declared the winner of the tournament.

In the event that two (or more) golfers are tied for the lead at the end of regulation play, sudden death playoff occurs to determine the winner of the tournament. In some cases PGA officials may also have the individuals play a specified number of holes to determine the tournament winner.

Example:

Mike and John are tied at the end of regulation play, and sudden death occurs. Mike scores a 4 on the first sudden hole, and John scores a 5. Mike is the winner of the tournament, and John is awarded a 2nd place finish.

In the event PGA officials order a specified number of holes to be played to determine a winner, the golfer with the lowest score after the specified number of holes have been completed shall be declared the winner, and 2nd, 3rd, etc would be determined by the scores of the remaining golfers.

In head to head matchups, both golfers MUST tee off in order to have action. The most completed holes and the lowest score for either golfer is the winner of the matchup.

Example:

John -120

Mike +100

If John and Mike both tee off for the tournament in question, the above matchup is "in action". If both golfers fail to make the cut to advance to the final rounds of play, the golfer with the lowest score wins.

Example:

John completes 36 holes and has a score of +8

Mike completes 36 holes and has a score of +9

In this case, John wins the matchup since he has a lower score than Mike does.

If John and Mike complete regulation play, and each have a score of -3, the matchup would be a tie, and monies refunded, EXCEPT in the case where John and Mike were tied for 1st place at the end of regulation play (then sudden death would be used to determine the winner).

If a wager is taken on a matchup for the overall tournament, both golfers MUST tee off for action. In the event that one player or the other is disqualified or withdraws, the other golfer will be the winner of the matchup.

In the event a matchup is taken on a round by round basis (1st Round, 2nd Round, 3rd Round, etc) or (1st and 2nd rounds, or 3rd and 4th rounds), both golfers MUST tee off for action, and in the event that a wager is taken on the 1st and 2nd (or the 3rd and 4th rounds) for the same two players, and the player tees off in the 3rd round, and then withdraws, the player remaining would be the winner of that matchup in the 3rd round, and there would be NO action on the 4th round wager (since one of the two players withdrew).
